Abstract

This study aimed at finding out the correlation between readig habit and narrative text writing ability of eight grade students of SMPN 7 Denpasar It made use of a correlation research design. The sample consists of 36 students. They were chosen by random sampling technique. The data which were needed for this research were collected through questionnaire for reading habit and narrative text writing ability as the research instruments and delivered by using Google Form platform. The obtained data were analysed by investigating the correlation between reading habit score and narraive text writing ability score which was done by using IBM SPSS Statistic 26.0. The result of the correlation between Reading Habit and Narrative Text Writing Ability was 0.557. It described that there is a significant correlation between reading habit and narrative text writing ability of eight grade students of SMPN 7 Denpasars in academic year 2021/2022. In conclusion, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted.
