Abstract

The present study, using ex-post-facto research with a correlation design, aimed to determine a significant correlation between the grammar level and writing ability of eleventh-grade students of SMA PGRI 1 Amlapura in the 2021/2022 school year were selected by random sampling technique including 80 students from 189 students. In addition, to collect data, the researcher used two types of tests: grammar test and writing test. In addition, the collected data was analyzed using the SPSS 23.0 program with the following steps: standardization test, homogeneity test, Pearson Product Moment test and T-test. The results of this study showed that there is a significant correlation between grammar fluency and writing ability with an r value of 0.62. Furthermore, the value of t count is 1.619 > t table 2.021 which means that the hypothesis was accepted. Therefore, it can be summarized that the correlation between grammar level and writing ability was high.
