IMPLEMENTATION OF PPP COMBINED WITH PICTURE CUED TASK TO IMPROVE WRITING SKILL OF THE SEVENTH-GRADE STUDENTS OF SMPN 2 UBUD IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/2025

Writing skill is one of four important skills which has to be essentially mastered. In fact, most of the students in junior high school faced problem in writing skill. the objective of the present study was to find out whether the extent of writing skill of the seventh-grade students of SMPN 2 Ubud in academic year 2024/2025 could be improved through PPP combined with picture cued task through classroom action research. There for to achieve the objective of the present study the researcher activities consisted of pre-test, post-test and questionnaire. The result of the pre-test clearly showed that the subject under study were low 55.62. Then, the researcher applied PPP combined with picture cued task to increase the ability of the subjects under study. The post-test were administered at the end of each cycle using picture cued task. The result of the post-test in cycle I and cycle II were 61.47 and 79.53. The significant different figured that the cycle I was more effective then cycle I. moreover, to collect the additional supporting data, the researcher administered the questionnaire at the end cycle II. It showed that the students motivation and attitude changed positively after the implementation of PPP combined with picture cued task. To sum up, the present classroom action research proved that writing skill of the seventh-grade students of SMPN 2 Ubud in academic year 2024/2025 could be improved through PPP combined with picture cued task through a classroom action research. In addition, the subjects also responded positively.
