INVESTIGATING THE BENEFITS OF ADMINISTERING QUIZIZZ IN ASSESSING GRAMMAR MASTERY OF THE EIGHTH-GRADE STUDENTS OF SMPN 14 DENPASAR IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/2025

Mastering grammar is important to communicate with other in English. To master grammar, the students should be able to construct sentences based on the English grammatical rules. In order to assess their grammar mastery, online assessment could be a choice as a beneficial assessment platform. Quizizz is one of the online assessments widely used in education. Thus, this study focused on investigating the benefits of Quizizz in assessing grammar mastery of the eighth- grade students of SMPN 14 Denpasar in the academic year 2024/2025. This study conducted a qualitative approach in the form of basic interpretative research and focused on the aspect of accessibility, feedback, assessment report, and learning variation based on the referred theory. The required data was collected by giving a structured questionnaire to 40 students, and then, 9 students were interviewed to collect a much deeper data. The result showed that the students experienced the benefits of administering Quizizz in assessing grammar mastery based on the aspect of accessibility, feedback, assessment report, and learning variation. They noticed that it was flexible and effective to assess their grammar mastery because of the accessibility and feedback given. Besides, the instant assessment report and learning variation increase their learning motivation and less stressful learning environment. Thus, it can be concluded that administering Quizizz in assessing grammar mastery provide beneficial impacts for the eighth-grade students of SMPN 14 Denpasar in the academic year 2024/2025 particularly in the aspects of accessibility, feedback, assessment report, and learning variation.
