Pemakaian Pelindung Mulut Jenis Custom Made Menimbulkan Keluhan Subjektif Lebih Rendah Daripada Jenis Boil and Bite

Function of mouthguard will be optimal if that comfort and not cause subjective complaints on arch for the used. Allhough in using the boil and bite mouthguard it is unstable and uncomfortable one, but it was still commonly used by athletes. Meunwhile the custom made mouthguard actually more fit to the mouth. The aim of this study is to find out the different of the subjective complaints between custom made and boil and bite mouthguards. Treatment by subject in two periods of cross overly design was applied in this experimental study. Twelve of volunteers of boxers were involved in this study and they were divided into two groups. In the first period (2 days) the group I used custom made and the group II used boil and bile. The second two days were a washing out period. In the second period (2 days) the use of mouthguard were cross overly. Wilcoxon signed rank test (a =0,05) was used in analyzing the mean different of data early and afer using mouthguard. The result show that the use of custom made and boil and bite mouthguard have comparison mean value are 15.334 + 0.65 and 22 25 + 1.85 respectively and significaniliy different (p<0,05). It is concluded that the use of custom made mouthguard lesser subjective complaints than boil and bite.
